Bugsy's Club closes down

- In an e-mail to it's players, Bugsy's Club Poker has announced that it has ceased operations. The room had been in operation since early 2003 and catered mainly to US-based players. The management blamed problems with regards to banking facilities for the poker room shutting down.
Poker sites to be blocked by Australian Government?

- If a leaked version of the list of sites that the Australian Government intends to block Australians from accessing turns out to be correct, poker sites could be off-limits for Australians in the near future. The controversial internet filter is threatening to morph into an Australian version of the Great Firewall of China.
Everest Poker now licensed in EU member state

- Everest Poker has annouced that it is now regulated in the European Union member state of Malta, after parent company Everest Gaming obtained a Maltese remote gaming license.
The move ties in nicely with the fact that Everest Poker's player base has been largely European from the start.
