Bugsy's Club Poker shuts down
April 8, 2009
In an e-mail statement to it's players, Bugsy's Club Poker has announced that it has ceased operations. The room had been in operation since early 2003 and was licensed in the Netherlands Antilles. It catered mainly to US-based players. The management blamed problems with regards to banking facilities for the poker room shutting down.
"Firstly, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your
continued support of the Bugsy's Club Poker Room. Since Bugsy's Club was formed, our mission statement has always been that we will offer you 'The Best Poker Games in Town' and that 'We will take care of you personally'. We are proud to say that these are goals we feel we have consistently exceeded, providing you with a great place to enjoy poker."

"Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control with regards to banking facilities, it is with regret that we have to announce it is no longer viable for the Bugsy's Club Poker Room to continue our business operations."
Bugsys Club used to share a platform with Poker Pages and Poker School Online. Although an established and trusted name in the world of online poker, Bugsy's Club never quite succeeded in establishing a significant player base. It was hit hard by the passing of the U.S. Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, seeing it's mainly American player base decimated.
